September 14th, 2009
Provincetown’s true lovers
know that there’s no better time than the fall to set their sights on a trip to
the Outer Cape and the Provincetown Music Festival, an explosion of musical
genres, awaits.
The 3rd Annual Provincetown Music Festival runs from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday,
September 19 at the Madeira Room at the Pilgrim House.
Folk singer Susan Souza, who founded KISS, the Kickass Independent Songwriter
Showcase, performs at 5:00pm. Souza, from Baltimore, has been heralded for her
passionate and wide-ranging sound.
Souza will be followed on stage by a Gentle
Jazz with Paul Nossiter on clarinet, Alan Clinger on guitar, Laird Boles on
bass and festival founder and drummer Bart Weisman.
Peter Donnelly, another stalwart on the
Provincetown music scene, will be performing his blend of rock, country and
folk tunes.
Freddie and the Maybellines will close the
festival with classic rock ranging from the 50s to the 70s.
